Arabic Online offers a range of Arabic tests, certificates and digital badges.
Arabic self-assessment tests
Arabic tests are available after each unit of the Beginner to Intermediate Course.
Arabic self-assessment tests are embedded into the study plans and can be taken at the end of each unit.
The tests check whether you have understood and can work with the content of a particular unit. They monitor your progress through the course.
If you do not succeed in the test, it is advisable to work through the unit again.
Arabic achievement tests with certificates and digital badges
These tests are based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the international benchmark for measuring language learning outcomes. The tests can be found on the My Arabic page.

Introduction to Arabic Test
- Can be taken at the end of First Steps Arabic.
Level A1 Test
- Can be taken after unit 5 of the Beginner to Intermediate Course.
Level A1+ Test
- Can be taken after unit 10 of the Beginner to Intermediate Course.
Level A2 Test
- Can be taken after unit 15 of the Beginner to Intermediate Course.
Level B1 Test
- Can be taken after Unit 8 of the Intermediate course.
On completion of the test for First Steps Arabic, for example, you will have the opportunity to download a certificate of participation as a PDF, which can be printed out. The certificate will contain your name, the name of the course and the date.
Once you have completed the test successfully, you can view your digital badge in your MyArabic account on arabiconline.
How do I share a digital badge?
There are different ways to share the digital badge.
The URL can be added easily to your online CVs and networking profiles (such as LinkedIn, etc) and can be made visible to colleagues, educators and potential employers.
The digital badge itself can be downloaded and displayed.
It is also possible to ‘bake a badge’ and add the badge to a BackPack account, which is an open source initiative from Mozilla.
Can I trust the ArabicOnline digital badge?
Digital badges need to be secure, accurate, verifiable, linked to the correct user and have all the relevant information regarding their value. The digital badges from ArabicOnline are validated by Pendragon Educational Publishers Ltd, UK (Company No. 7943554).
The ArabicOnline digital certification is transparent and uses technology to improve a well-established system of certification. Should a potential employer, for example, wish to verify the achievement of a particular individual or find out more about a particular course an individual has undertaken, he or she can follow the link on the LinkedIn profile and immediately view and verify the unique URL which contains the certificate, criteria, grades and achievements.
The online profile remains anonymous, but the identity can be verified by entering of the holder’s email address. This means that the anonymity of an individual cannot be abused by someone else.
