I was coincidentally asked to translate this expression into English. We often receive such requests through Facebook. Typically, someone has just seen something in Arabic so they’ve taken a picture sent it to us and want an immediate response. Usually the content is some sort of meaningless nonsense from a friend.

So I was quite pleased to receive this phrase in Arabic and translate it for a soldier in Ireland. I then decided to create a motivational style poster.

سوف تمر هذه العاصفة

sauf tmr hadha al3aaSifah

In the image, I included the concept of the ‘dog’s bark but the caravan moves on’.

The expression is reminiscent of Solomon’s Seal – the story of how King Solomon requested a phrase which he can use in any given situation. It’s a heartwarming story and worth reading.
